One of the Dodecanese islands scattered in the Aegean sea, Patmos has a well-known place in Greek mythology. According to legend it was once submerged under water and was only brought to life after Artemis, Selene and Apollo persuaded Zeus to lift it from the sea.
Today the island has retained its historic charm and can only be reached by boat or helicopter. The season begins in April/May at Easter with mild Mediterranean temperatures of 20 degrees reaching 30 degrees in the height of summer. Shaped like a seahorse, the island is scattered with beautiful coves to bathe in. Historic Chora with its monastery which dates back to 1088 overlooks the island and the port of Skala. Main villages are in Grikos and Kampos.
Boat charter is available for the islands of Arki, Lipsos, Leros and the ‘Greek Caribbean’ - white stone beaches with clear turquoise waters.
Patmos offers a natural beauty and peacefulness. It has something to offer all year round.
